Most people who have Medicare and Medicaid (TennCare) qualify for Home Health Services through Assisted Daily Living (ADL) or Instrumental Assisted Daily Living (IADL). Call your Insurance company to see if and what type of Home Health Services you or your loved ones qualify for.
MEDICAID AND MEDICARE HOME HEALTH PROGRAMS
MEDICAID (TennCare) : -
1. CHOICES (TennCare) - This is a TennCare Program for adults, 21years and older with a physical disability. It is also for older Tennesseans (65yrs and older) who need help with everyday activities in their homes.
2. Home and Commuity Based Services (HCBS)
(A) OPTIONS for community living - This is a state-funded progam created to help older Tennesseans and also home and community based adults (18yrs or older) with disability,
(B) Title III-B In-home Services - This is a federal-funded program for older patients who are 60years or older through the Older American Act

MEDICARE : -
Medicare and Medicare (Advantage) HMOs do not cover Companion care or Personal care but Medicaid (TennCare) does. They cover Home Health Care which unlike Companion care and Personal care involves medical or rehabilitative services that are are typically done by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Physicians. The conditions typically covered are management and monitoring of Chronic health conditions, Short term care after surgery or injuries, home health care after discharge from hospitals. A doctor will have to request for these home health care services.
